I am having some issues with my PC crashing during BF3. It was powering down during the game so I updated my drivers. Now it goes BLUE SCREEN on me. I would buy a new one if I thought it would help.

I like the game a lot. I would love to get this game.

But I need to figure out what are the next steps.

What videocard are you using? Also, what driver version?

Do you have a sound card? Blue Screen, very uncommon for me anymore, but when it happens, usually due to overheating or driver issue. Have you checked temps in your computer?

Is your PSU rated at or above the amps needed by your card?

If you turn the graphics down, does it help at all?

FIRST, before you roll back drivers or replace any hardware, do a memtest. I was having crashes in COD BO2 but not in BF3. It was weird, so I thought it was the game itself. Turns out I had mem errors very high in the register (somewhere around 5.8gb out of 6gb). I guess BF3 just never needed to use memory in that part of the register, whereas COD was, making it crash.

I think you'll like it better if we all start at the beginning. It is definitely a different game from COD, but it sure is a good time.

Ran some of the test suggested and I honestly believe it is related to my video card overheating. Fan setting was a off and so was the temp gauge. Both of them being my fault.

With that being said I actually like this game more than COD. I will likely get a new video card and dive in.

I'm on display driver 320.49, no crashing. Same 570 series. I think Knave used to have an issue with one game, might be this one, that caused him to crash as well. I don't know if he ever fixed that.

Lol, might have fried that vcard. 770 seems like the one to get. I play Bf3 on an i7-950 myself, but at 3.4ghz.
