Keep coming back

Been playing UT3 since it came out, still play (daily for a map or 2), but recently reinstalled because old teammate asked me to, and I would say the only reason I keep coming back is because of newnet being on and not dealing with ping issues.

All I did in UT3 was pub vctf, only the main community server where everyone hung out, is 120-150 ping all day every day, so its not that fun for me.

I enjoy UT3... let me rephrase, I enjoy UT3 vctf. It took what I hated from the gametype, and made it more to my style as I stated it should be played, however they managed to add/tweak a bunch of crap that didnt need to and lowered it back down. Not to mention the community server is stock maps (6) only, so imagine playing the same 4 (2 rarely get picked) over and over and over again.

I did create a community website for competitive teams to show up, and assemble, we held a mixer which ran nicely, a draft to pick players, demos are available at that site(pm me for link). From basically just k1 being the only team there, it is roughly 3-5 teams strong.

Main problem is the fact everyone plays only that server, others have made identical style servers up and running, but all the kids frequent the UMG one(which was admin'd horribly).

SO yea, I just came back this week, and thats my story.

something entirely different.
It was my ex,(abusive asshole) never let me
on "HIS" computer,or showed me, nor did I know.
I used to sit next to him, being his co-pilot.
Watching him play 'Heavy Gear' with the mechs.
I used to think it was so cool! Teams and clans,
at the same time wanting to play and learn.
So....after awhile, and alot of shit and abuse.
He got a game called UT 2004, He played it.
He didnt like it so much, but I, instantly wanted
to play!
So, when he was at work, I would go on.
I trained myself to play. Meeting many
awesome people worldwide!
That was one of the most imortant things to me
the people.... The game, she speaks for herself!~

You need to encourage her to play, Shag!! I know she'll love it!! If she wants, she can come over to my server, and I'll lock it down and show her some stuff, if you want. I don't mind. Once she gets a taste of how much fun it is to play UT2k4, she'll come back for more and more...Then you two will both be able to play together. Just be patient with her and don't call her a NOOB!! That would be so coooooool if you two play together!

comon shagger, everyone starts out as a noob and you need to let her know that man! UT2003/2004 is a crazy fast paced game, and someone new to it is like WTF! Just tell her to give it a shot, nothing to lose and i bet she would have a blast!!

Big problem is she is on a 15 inch laptop... I know I cant play on it (though I have...) I will get her in if I get another PC... which may be soon...

For a laptop that can actually run the game well, all you need is an external monitor/KB/Mouse.
