The reason people keep coming back is because there is no other game with the same flow as UT

I just can't get beyond the gamepad vs keyboard/mouse issue.

I wonder how the Wii is for FPS games. The thing I love about keyboard/mouse is it feels so natural. Seems like Wii would be capable of a similar or maybe better feel. Just my speculation though, I've yet to play the Wii.

UT3 on the ps3 supports a mouse and keyboard... so its obviously DOABLE... and even though i LOVE pc games to death, i kinda wish the developers would just put keyboard support in their games. it would be a pretty nice step in the right direction for consoles imo.

he'll if all gaming took place on a console, but had a built in voip service that worked, and worked WELL, games that supported keyboard and mouse, and the ability to actually host servers on dedicated boxes, i could see pc gaming dying out then, but ONLY then.

I just bought a ps3 like a month ago, with gta 4, and i luv gta4 but i see myself coming back to ut04. I came back to play with old DAmmies and Friends, and when you find a good sever like CTC, you don't wanna leave.

I've only just got here. I played my first game on the CTC server today. I've been playing off line for some time now; it's the only game that doesn't bore you to death in a week or so. At adept level and beyond in Instant Action one could almost convince oneself that the bots are real; until three of them get stuck in a lift somewhere anyway
I've played a few games now, on and off line. UT2k4 still hits the spot. The maps, particularly those by AngleH@rt and his contemporaries are in my opinion masterpieces. Okay, a lot of the eye candy maps don't play as well as some of the simpler maps, but as art they are fantastic.
I've tried UT2007, it's not a patch on 2k4. They seem to have lost that unique fantasy/arcade feel, and you need to have serious money kit to play it at all, never mind with the loud pedal on the floor!
I'm going to come around here a fair bit I think. I had good games on the clan server today. Players spoke to me!
I've been playing AssaultCube on line for longer than I care to dwell on. It's a great game and I admin a number of servers now, but it took a long time before the regular players even spoke to me. Being friendly to the newcomers is important in on line gaming if you want new players to stay.

UT2K4 rocks period, actipper. Just learn to ignore the crap in forums (something I haven't learned yet) and you should have a great time. Some of us keep coming back after 2-3 years so there must be something to it.

The last clan I was in for years, went to WOW and COD4
Pissed me off, didnt understand why they couldnt come back.
At least play a couple days out of the week. But, things change, people are different.
I never left UT, but couldt afford any extra games, raising 3 boys
on my own.
Lost alot of friends that way. Then, I tried to buy WOW they
wanted credit card etc....or the other option a $40.00 card, that did something.
Dont have a credit card ty!~
Im a single Mom, dont get support from dead beat Dads so, I couldn't afford it.
Or the $20.00 $40.00 a month for an account, whatever it is. I returned the game, hoping
I could've plugged in and played God forbid!~ Anyways my ex that doesnt
pay anything has a monthly account for WOW. COD4 I hear is more
tactical, where as ut is run in guns blazing, sometimes. Thats more fun for me,
and the people I've met!~

I think WOW is the kind of game to play if you have no life
paying monthly fee is not worth it at least I think so I'd rather
spend it on my Kid's. COD4 I have but still haven't played it yet
every time I do try to play it I have some kind of issue just to get it
going so I said screw it. my brother inlaw got it for me for my B-day
because he has it and wanted someone he knew to play with him.
If I had the Extra money I'd rather donate to this server and Community
cause there's alot of great people here some maybe not so great but
you can't have good without the bad all you can do is just make the
best of it.

I had/have a lot of free time being self employed on occasion I can afford the time to waste (depends on how the work during the week runs). I went to an MMO called Anarchy after moving from UT2k4. Huge difference in communities and types of people that are on the forums there - I think that's why a lot of people left (I know that's why a lot of people left because of all the horsesh*t from some players in the forums). I've casually mentioned getting some old players to come back and play a few on the CTC server - (telling them it's a decent place to chill) at some forums and have gotten more than one answer of "hell no ain't going back to that sh*t" from people I always enjoyed hanging with in the past. If CTC keeps to their guns here like they have so far - this is a nice little nook to come to and spend some time fragging with some good people when time permits. Thanks again for creating a decent place to hang.
