Yes, yet another DES person, although some may say I am tipper's other half
he and I were the ones we pretty much got the idea to branch out, as well as the direction our clan has gone lately
I used to play UT 2000 alot back in the day (was on a semi-pro team for a short time) but I haven't touched a UT game since late 2002, so this will be my first UT game in like 7 years, so I hope I am not to rusty, and from the looks of it, UT2k4 is a great deal different, wish me luck on getting my sea legs under me, hah

also, I would like to know if you guys have an irc channel, and if so, what server and channel name
I spend alot of time on irc, as well as freddo (posted in r4zor's hey topic), so I wouldn't mind stopping by and introducing myself alittle more

glad to be here, and thanks for being so open to us branching out

We have and use ventrilo here on our site. I believe there are at least three different servers we use for communication. Have you used ventrilo yet?

It works quite well. Fortunately, the in-game voice option in UT2K4 is very well implemented and that is what most people use in game for communication when we're playing on the Public server. We use ventrilo when we scrim with other teams and when we want to communicate w/o bothering others in game. I'm sure you will find assistance if you require it with both options. Just ask!

yes, i am aware its a long channel name, that is why i am working on a shorter channel that will act as the lobby for the main channel (also a question/comment channel so we can keep our main channel to mindless chatting)

i don't use ventrilo to much, i do have it, but i hadn't used it in some time, we use teamspeak over our way

to those who still use IRC, we would love for you to stop by
(don't mind the other morons from AC, alot of kids come and go over there, it being an open source game, sometimes they come in our channel, but freddo and i keep it heavily moderated)

For DES Clan or who ever else if you haven't use the Chat in UT2004
this is what you do put the server name in and the channel name and
click connect then Join (2x).

OR you download Mirc and do it from their which is alot easier sometimes.

For those nubs out their IRC is used for a clan base home. Better than a website it allows memebers to communicate via Instant message. IRC is also used for a easier way to start pugs, find scrims, get matches set up, and the regular awesomeness that is on IRC.

Pro's use it and gambit is a pro for using it
