Deathball

I wonder if any of you remember playing Deathball in UT2004. It is an amazingly fun mod. It is like soccer, but instead of kicking the ball you bounce it around/shoot it with the shield gun. I know the old Crush clan used to host this mod on their server; Deathball tended to fill the server up every night.

This is some of the most fun I have ever had in UT2004 other than playing competitive VCTF and ONS. Also, the people who worry about the "pro" players need not fear. Players cannot die in Deathball unless carrying the ball or if they are inside the enemy penalty box.

I have not sifted through the forums much, but there is a maps board. I suppose if we put this mod on the private server, the maps to support it can be found here: http://forums.gameservers.net/forumdisp ... forumid=26.

Me and Gambit looked into adding this to the private server a while back and it's not that easy. The game launches separate from UT2004; it does not show up in the server browser like other gametypes. This makes it a bit tricky to add it to a multi-gametype server, and since we played it offline and did not really care for it neither of us have had the impetus to mess around with it.

I have not played it with other people so perhaps it's more fun than it initially appears.

I promise you it is more fun in a full multiplayer game than it is offline with bots. More fun than Carball, more fun than Happy Fun Ball, more fun than TAM, etc..

I urge you guys to try it once more. If you cannot seem to figure it out, maybe one of you could message Flak on the nbs/crush forums and ask her how to set it up correctly.

Yeah, mine too. I just installed Vista, so all that I am using at the moment is IE. Some website don't mix well with IE, but are fine with Firefox, or Chrome.

I like happy fun ball more than the idea of deathball and that website was really buggy.

Yeah, Happy Fun Ball turns into a fragfest and you do not focus on the game. There is no pissibility of a fragfest with Deathball, just the game. It is a lot of fun.

That website is indeed buggy on Internet Explorer. Might I suggest you use Firefox, Gambit. If you do not have Firefox and do not want to get the superior browser, would you like me to upload the mod files and some maps for you?

Yeah sure go ahead I can try to load it one more time but Like Badasp said it failed for us last time but who knows mabey it will work.

And yeah Happy Fun Ball is kinda Vapor, It would be better if it was Happy Fun Ball Freeze Tag.............
