Downloaded maps are remove from your folder every 30 days, with this tool you'll never download the same map again.

Also, make sure to remove

Texture files .UTX
Animations .UKX
Sounds .UAX
StaticMeshes .USX

Not exactly a necro, since it's a sticky. :D

Another way to do this would be to set PurgeCacheDays to 0 in ut2004.ini (under [Core.System]), which turns off cache deletion.

Doing it with a cache extractor is nice because you can copy it between computers (great for a spur of the moment lan party), but you can have package conflicts and join failures if different servers have different versions of the files, having infinite cache time allows your system to automatically handle that without manually copying and pasting files, or deleting files from your UT2k4 install directory.
