it was every map over a period of several days, but it's seems to be working fine now for a at least a few days, thanks

Nope....if the map is not in your cache file then the speed is still super slow...at least it was for me ofr Id's new map.

Which map, and when did this happen? Please let me know so I can track it down and try to fix it.

Any and all of the new maps...maybe it is how my ISP is routed but when I ping checked it did not look like it. CTC is the only place I seem to have the issue....which is odd because I live around Houston and I think the servers are in Dallas.
