Do no manta maps survive?

Playing VCTF again lately sort of makes me want to try mapping again, perhaps try to actually finish some old ideas from a long time ago that i never completed.

My hesitation is that my ideas are, i guess you call them old-fashioned, as far as 2k4 is concerned, very close up ground based fighting over moderate distances.

what im wondering is do these maps survive anymore? or are maps that are not manta run central, or have no mantas at all, fall by the wayside?

A mantaless map is fine by me, as long as there's some Scorpions for me to drive Preferably Shock Scorpions
