Ghosted's server shutting down :(

Due to overwhelmingly negative feedback from some CTC members, I've decided to shut my server down. Ghosted's server is no more. My illusions of creating an elite UT3 clan built from players I stole from CTC and DD are crushed. You can thank Papasmurf, Vapor, et al. for that... We had some good times, but oh well.

While I'm here I'd like to anounce there is a new CTC server at the same IP as the my old server. It has the same modifications and the same maplist and is currently up. This server will exist under the same ruleset as the other CTC servers and will have the same compliment of admins including me (mainly in maintenance role). I've decided that I will donate to CTC the costs to run this server by paying for it directly with my credit card. That is all.

im still having connection issues i was on the phone with TDS half the day!

i just installed everything!

i have been on your server 3 times since then, and the only other person that was on with me was badasp , we played freeze tag and he kicked my ass of course, but still i havent been able to test out the manta yet!

I think it is great that CTC now has another server out there. Soon we will have others and then our ranks will swell. They will see that CTC is the Truth, the Light and the Way. It is written.

In time there will be a decree that all followers must wear a Golden Thong of Commitment made of golden satin. I already have mine on in anticipation of that great day.

Maybe this server will be playable.. So will the name be Ghosted's CTC UT3 UT2004 server? I have heard it is all in the name...

I don't think I have given negative feedback on the server. I think it is great. I just don't want to leave all my other friends that are playing on the other servers. If everyone had UT3 and made the switch, I would have no problem playing it more. It is more about the people I play with and not really about the game too much.

Maybe this server will be fun now that CTC is running the place.. those guys are awesome.

It takes some getting used to!
I understand what you mean though, the people that arent able to play ut3.
Its usually at the end of the night when we go play ut3,
after lots of games of ut 2004!

I think I'm one of those people Papa is reffering too, I only have time to play at night
after wife & kids go to bed, and with me and the wife Jobless can't realy go out and
buy a game. but if eveyone wants to play UT3 it's ok Me and Papa can keep the
private server running.................

Not having a copy of the game isn't an issue. Multiple people have volunteered to pay for other peoples copies. I you want a copy Gambit, we can work something out. I'm sure if anyone in CTC wanted a copy, but couldn't afford it, arrangements could be made. Does that solve the issue? I'm definitely interested in keeping everyone playing together as Papa said.

Or is there the problem that some people just don't like UT3? I think there's plenty not to like in the default game, but we're having fun with the modifications I've made. If you just don't like it period, then I can relate. I feel the same way about carball and trials.

It may be lacking CB and trials, but ill take UT3 VCTF over 2K4 anyday...but get rid of those relics =P

If u need the use of a vent server or something, come talk to me. I did set up a UT3 channel if u want to use it.

thank god its finally gone

actually i tried to get on a couple times the past few days just to try it out but it keeps crashing my internetz whenever i try to connect :/ im chalking it up to ut3 being gay
