Hmmm... You have UT3, right? The expansion pack is something new that was announced a few months ago. Not much has been confirmed as to what it will include, and wether or not it will be of cost to those that already have the game. Maybe Epic will get it right this time. Why not let them know what you want?

Wait, you didn't get the expansion, you got the game, and yes it sucked. The point of Mr. Bean's thread here is that Epic wants to know what we want in the NEW (not yet released) UT3 expansion pack. So go to the link he provided and voice your opinion.

Bean, I edited your post to point to the first page in the thread, not somewhere in the middle. No big whop, but it might be a little easier to read/navigate. Although, seeing that this is like an 85 page long thread, and that an official Epic employee didn't start it, I have to faith that any of it will be read by Epic.
Meh, I'm just being negative, I guess.

I do not know why people are so negative about UT3. While I understand where it is coming from, the game is not that bad. Its actually pretty good. I probably put in a good 30-50 hours on the game before I ultimately dropped it and came back to UT2k4. There certainly was more to dislike than like about it for 2k4 fans, but it is still good. If they made some improvements, I would think its worth revisiting.

That's what I said to myself after reading the post. Don't get me wrong, the guy makes some good points, but he doesn't appear to be associated with Epic and as such his suggestions are probably as influential as ours.
Bottom line, UT3 is dead. Go to gametracker.com, press search servers, and select UT3. Click the "Players" tab and you will see that during peak times the game only has about 3 servers with 20+ people. After that there is a few with 8, then a couple with 6, then all the rest are empty. For a game that has only been out for a year that is pretty sad. Hell, UT2004, which is going on 5 years old, has more people playing onslaught than all of UT3.
I don't see how an expansion pack with a few more maps, characters, and vehicles is going to resurrect this game from the dead. The changes will truly have to be epic (no pun intended) to stimulate interest.

I feel the same as you Shag.

I partially agree with you badasp. If they only create more maps, vehicles, etc; Well then, yes... it will be flop #2. What most people want is a 2004 like gameplay, online interface and such.
That would be a step in the right direction.

Yeah, the interface needs to be changed, as well as a few key game-play features. The Hellbender is ruined, the scorpion is too strong, and some of the other vehicles are just too weird.

Early mornng for me folks, so dont mind my nonsense.
From what I understand... Unreal 1 was originally promissed the Tournament expansion. Instead, the tournament expansion became the full fledged title Unreal Tournament.
Unreal Tounament 2003 did so-so and 2004 was the culmination of the original 2003 game and the new modes and maps that came with 2004.
UT3 did so-so, but the company must realize that many arent playing the game anymore. So either they will follow through with the tradition of re-releasing a game...or parts of it...with updated bits.....remarket it...gain new customers outside of the current customer pool...
or the expansion they are talking about isnt so expansive and youll have to flush twice to make it go down.

I wouldn't mind some tweaks that would make the game actually enjoyable. Dm was ok, vehicle gametypes got a nasty case of lolcasuals.

Nonsense? That makes total sense and was exactly what I was thinking.
