A new VCTF map by Wulff. Nice terrain layout and weapon placement. I like it.

I haven't put this on the server yet as I've had a super busy weekend. Anyway, the map looks good but still needs help. The terrain isn't optimized and there are weird blocking volume that make certain parts of the map inaccessible. It is a beta release so I get it... ;)

I promise I'll get it on the server tomorrow morning.

I played this map on the server last night with just a few people, and today with a lot more people. For me, there was a lot to like about the map, and just a couple of things that I didn't like.

I like...
the bases
terrain layout
textures
jump pads
weapon placement
clean grid lock usage in the editor
overall look

I don't like...
only 1 manta
too many raptors
static mesh usage is a little bland
lighting
*unaccessible areas

*this map is being played on an RPG VCTF server in Europe. Character builds allow super jumps and super speed as well as being able to do extreme drops with little or no damage. The server also has the translocator enabled so these unaccessible areas are not an issue for them.

Without a doubt, this author knows his way around the editor. He has my up most respect, and I applaud his efforts in a job well done. Kudos to Wulff.

That explains a lot of stuff I don't like about the map, particularly the inaccessible areas. Maybe he could be motivated to modify it for 'regular' vctf play? Just a thought!

As always, be specific as to that you want changed, the more clearly defined the problem is, the better a solution can be made. Post screenshots where you can. Beta 3 needs to be put up btw.

A few defects.

1. Very little creativity in the middle area. It really doesn't invite to have any good fights going in the middle.
2. Don't like the fact that you have to go scavenge hunting for weapons. Hate having to fight for shock ammo.
3. Too many raptors.
4. Too many jump pads.
5. A lot of wasted space. The huge lava pool inside the bases, the middle area just to name two.
6. Very poor aesthetics.
7. Empty trailers with keg/shield is so 2004ish

Welcome to the CTC server Wulff, we're glad to have you. Do you have a download link for beta 3? As far as beta 2 goes, I notice some terrain collision that's a tad off right next to the base to the left and right. the manta would get hung up there (easy fix). Maybe you already fixed that in beta 3 :? I'd also swap a raptor for a manta. That way each team has at least 1 manta, and a possible second (the neutral manta in the middle). I didn't pay attention to the sky box untill Jim pointed it out to me. Looks really nice. There was 1 other terrain issue that's hard to explain. I'll have to get a screen shot. And lastly there needs to be pedestrian access to places like the LG & painter. Vanilla servers don't have super jump or translocators. Maybe a jumppad, ladder, ramp, or lift. Again, I'd like to thank you for sharing your work with us.

Beta 4, never did post a link to it, still needs weaponlockers for the vanilla crowd, also, everything can be gotten via double jump/shield jump.
