New Antitcc

The new antitcc is killing your server performance. It is causing lag, chop, teleporting players and a LOT of unregistered shots. You know when you shock a Manta that is not moving twice and neither shot registers that the server performance is suffering.

There are way too many mid-game checks. Every other death I lag out for five seconds or more, which is great when trying to defend a base or chase a flag carrier, and it is, as always, kicking people for things other than cheats. I got kicked the other day for hitting my page up key, (I use it as a Ventrilo key bind) which I believe is a hot key in UT to change the max amount of FPS you can have.

I don't know if just lowering the amount of mid game checks will help, or if the whole thing needs to be reconfigured, but something needs to be done. I'm pretty sure, as I've heard nothing to contradict this, that the new antitcc hasn't caught any cheaters, so could it be toned down a bit so that we can actually start playing games without the lag and teleporting players again?

I agree. I have noticed a marked drop in server performance. There has been noticeable chopiness in the game and frequent lag. I have also experienced unregistered shots; today, for instance, I hit a manta head on with a shock core and it did nothing to inhibit the manta's movement. The same also applies to shooting people; there are times when your crosshair is right on someone and you shoot but the shot doesn't register. I use a T1 connection with a state-of-the-art PC so its not my end that is causing the issues. Numerous other people have reported the same problems as well.

I have not been kicked yet though, and I have many mods such as CarBall and Happy Fun Ball.

Here is a description by Wormbo himself over at the Epic forums regarding the changes:

"What has changed since release 2?
Fixed the SET command filter, which incorrectly blocked "set Input [key] [command]".
Fixed a default prefetch check entry that could possibly cause false positives.
Improved key reset code for Input Inconsistency checks.
Addressed some crashes related to replaced shadow projectors (client) and cleanup of player ID log files. (server) Not sure if those are actually fixed now or were just symptoms of other problems.
The server's current and maximum tick rate is now displayed in the server details box of the server browser and mid-game menu rules tab.
Fixed not being able to look up or down when standing on moving vehicles.
Fixed not being able to fire while driving vehicles
Sanity check: Prevented running Anti TCC and SafeGame at the same time - they are simply not compatible.
Fixed client demo playback view direction.

Are there any known bugs in this release?
Unfortunately, yes:
The way Anti TCC secures the console breaks admin menu commands of UT2Vote up to version 57 and some other mods. (These mods access the console though InteractionMaster.Console, which conflicts with Anti TCC's secured console feature. This must be fixed in those mods, I can't do anything about it.) "

I've reverted back to the version that I had on before. I went through the logs and did not see anybody that got caught by the new version. I saw the log that said Id pressed an illegal key... I did the same at one point too. All other logged kicks were false positives.

I'll look at the newest release and see if it's worth it.

The reason you haven’t caught any cheaters is because everyone here that plays regular knows that you upgraded the anti cheats. In other words they left their aimbots at home when they joined your server because they don’t know which ones for sure will get caught. I am hearing good reports that nothing weird is happening on the server now. No unbelievable shots. Just upgrade to the latest because he is trying to fix lag issues.

I agree, the lag issues will go away. If Wombo has done 2 or 3 builds in the past short while, he is obviously hard at work. I'd even rather endure a tad of lag if it means not enduring the retarded botters.
