As far as "pubs" go though i would not take it to seriously although winning is always a +1
It is frustrating being a noob and even worse when someone jumps knee deep in your ass about doing something freaking stupid. When I started playing years ago I would be on Vent with ShortBusHookers and he would not hesitate to lambaste me about being a noob...but what is more important he also offer to show me there was a better way of doing things.

I don't know about "pro attitudes" but like MLK I like to win. If someone is trying to instruct a noob in order to help them but the noob carries on to the detriment of the team then blast away. Frankly, I don't see MLK as the type to verbally stomp on the new people. There are far more belligerent players out there.

CTC does a good job of offering a nice fun playground for good players and noobs. But the atmosphere is team oriented so even a noob should look for the best way of helping the team.

By the way...Sloth is not a noob.

I was not talking about sloth when i made that comment. i personally have not played enough with sloth to say something like that but if mlk yelled at him i assume he did do something to screw up the game.

I personally do not fucking care about pubs, noobs are always there and will always be, what i care about is "pugs" scrims mathes ect, but this game is dead so my competitive passion for this game has also died.

The problem is this: If there are noobs in the server and they make no attempt to help the team effort they should be told that. although i could care less about some games i still help my team by stopping caps, scoring, ect... If noobs want to learn how to be better thats all well and good in my book (we all started somewhere right?) what i find pathetic is people continually "sucking" and continually ruining experiences for people in the server.

And as Jim put it so well you guys don't know me well enough to see how my "pro" attitude affects other players. theres a reason i have voice chat off and only use vent...

Are you a noob? Tired of Dubya owning your ass every game? Do you drown your sorrows in twinkies and porn? If any of those things apply to you, then you should try...

My two cents: I know MLK, and I know he would not have yelled at Sloth had Sloth not continually done something MLK felt detrimental to the team that MLK first had calmly asked him to stop or shown him how to do better. Sometimes a game is close, all you need is to get or prevent that one extra cap, and you can see a teammate doing something that goes a long way in preventing his own team from getting what they need. This angers a lot of people.Though perhaps, in this community, it is best not to voice those opinions harshly, just about everyone does it from time to time, and for different reasons.

I had a CTC admin the other day incessantly complaining to MLK and I that we being on the same team was unfair and was ruining the game. MLK and I were placed on the same team at the start and the teams were of an even number, thus switching to even them was not an option. Though MLK and I did not cost our team the game for something stupid, someone still tried to make MLK and I feel guilty for playing the game.

Why do I bring that up? Because people of all talent levels on this server get yelled at, pestered, made to feel guilty, asked to leave and any number of other things by people of all different levels of status in this community. If, instead of coming in here to apologize for yelling at someone, MLK came in to ask someone to stop yelling at him for playing well, MLK would get none of the backing that a lower level player receives. High level players like MLK get shit on in their own way. If you ask me, it evens out pretty well.

Sloth gets yelled at for playing poorly on a map. MLK gets yelled at for playing too well. Why, then, is MLK the only one made to feel guilty for yelling instead of all parties made to feel guilty, or as it should be, left alone to play how they will? This exact situation has been going on for years in the VCTF community--and I'm sure in many communities in many other games. It will never end. Either do something to fix both ends of this situation or leave it alone. Just be glad MLK came in and said anything. MLK is a genuinely great person.

This was a good post. I liked what you have to say. I certainly see the issue with the better players. I have heard many many occasions where someone is being called out as a botter or something, so I understand what you are talking about.

I think the idea still holds true, just come here to play a game and have fun and most everything else just works itself out. It is when people get too serious that the attitudes come out. I know I have been caught up in drama a few times and I always walk away wondering why...

oh and.. FU GHOSTED..

Well, I didn't really want this to escalate. I know how things are. Just wanted to acknowledge my over-reaction and apologize. Most of the time, I just leave the game when it's getting annoying. I've found it safer to "Fail and Bail" or whatever than start getting annoyed with teammates. Really, all I am after is teamwork. Pick a role, folks.

Thanks for the server. Sexually yours, milkypoo.

I agree.. It is always safer to leave if you are getting angry. If anyone who plays here wants to play seriously, join us in the PUGs.
