Bombing Run night - July 25, 2008

Count me in. I have played mostly instagib but regular weapons is definitely fun. It's more of a team game since passing is needed. See you guys there!

Do you have a final head count or is this on a first come, first serve basis??? Is it still 6v6 with 6 spectator spots? Also, what about voice chat? Are you using in-game chat, Ventrilo, Team Speak, or no chat at all?

I'm looking forward to this and I hope to see a lot of you there cuz I love meeting new people and this is a great opportunity for just that!! w00t!

Here is a map I found that would be pretty cool for the 6v6 in the mixer:



It is called "To the Hoop." It is brought to you by Circus BT, the same guy who brought you AARDVarkLaunch, so you know it's got to be a lot of fun. The baskets really work; shoot it in and you get 3 points, slam dunk and you get 7. The red and blue jump pads to the left and right of the map allow you to slam dunk. The map also has all the weapons, including deemers and painters. It even has a button (see to the left of pic) that allows you to put up a hoop blocker:



The spawn points are also cool. They are kind of like a locker room that has weapon lockers and minimizes spawn killing:



12 people on this map would surely make for some fast-paced and hectic fun!

Here are a couple other maps to consider. They are vehicle bombing run maps:








The first two pics show a variant of Circus BT's 1ADeathrap map. The second map is a variant of everyone's favorite map, AARDVarkLaunch.

The rules of carrying a ball in a vehicle are much the same when carrying a flag in a vehicle. You can carry the ball in a ground vehicle, such as a Scorpion, Goliath, or Hellbender, though it cannot be carried in an aerial vehicle (e.g., Manta, Raptor, etc.). Manta BR runs, however, are possible and certainly add an interesting element to the game. A manta can simply drive wing-first into the goal and score 7 points. The manta can also do a "drive-by" where the rider simply shoots the ball as the manta is driving by, scoring 3 points. This certainly seems like a lot of fun and definitely makes the game unique.

That website has all of Circus BT's VBR and VCTF maps. They all certainly look like a lot of fun.
